Our Private Member’s Club is 5 floors of discerning luxury for the true cigar connoisseur. Designed by internationally renowned Rottet Studio, we have meticulously crafted an exclusive atmosphere of refinement and camaraderie where the art of cigars is appreciated in an elevated, yet understated, experience. Our stand-alone building is full of storied DC history and is located at 405 8th St. NW in the heart of downtown. Close to everything, yet secluded, tucked away, and intimately private for those in the know. Our mission is to provide a haven. A haven where industry leaders and professionals can conduct business in an atmosphere of sophistication, enjoy themselves with a vibrant sense of community, be treated to unparalleled hospitality, & partake in the craft of cigars. We’re looking for a dynamic and innovative Director of Member Events & Communications who curates inspiring events, exceeds goals, and delivers white glove service.

SCOPE of ROLE
At The Clayton, the Director of Member Events & Communications is responsible for programming, planning, and delivering innovative events showcasing our unique space, our diverse community, and inspiring our members.

Our guiding principle is curating memorable and dynamic events for the cigar connoisseur community. We want our events to galvanize members and tell authentic stories about our singular brand. The Director of Member Events & Communications is responsible for conceptualizing and producing creative, varied, and refined member events. We’re looking for an organized storyteller with their finger on the pulse of cultural trends, with talent and innovation that engages all of our members, their guests, and our team.

To be successful, you’ll need to be an inspiring leader, an excellent communicator, and have a desire to learn about the cigar world. This role is best suited for a candidate passionate about working in a team environment with a diverse group of people from different cultural backgrounds and interested in leading multiple workstreams. This role would report directly to Ownership and Partners and would work closely with the executive team helping to grow our brand into other cities and markets as well.
